1980s Current Vintage Jewelry Trends

The 1980's jewelry was a fun combination of big, bold, and often layered pieces. Two tone jewelry was popular; silver and gold together whether it be sterling silver with gold or costume silver-tone with gold-tone jewelry. Hoop earrings were big and rhinestones were bigger! There were large chain necklaces and layered chain necklaces. Pearls and chunky faux pearls were popular and added glamour to the layered look. Many of the earrings were clip-on due to the weight of the larger than life earrings. And if you have huge dangle post earrings, you can find earring backs that are for heavier earrings (to help distribute the load and keep the earlobe from drooping). Many vintage jewelry collectors have a large collection. The 80's trend is a great reason to wear multiples and layers of your pieces.
